While most rig operations are routine, some are not, and nonroutine operations can be vitally important. Thus, Unit III has three lessons that cover procedures and calculations necessary for directional drilling, fishing, and well control.
The three manuals are:

- Lesson 3: Blowout Prevention, 4th ed.
