Well Completion

After a well is drilled, there is still much that needs to be done before oil and gas can begin to flow to the surface.

Module content:

• Basic steps of well completion
• Considerations in well completion design
• Common types of equipment and mechanisms used including:
  • Tubular goods
  • Packers sleeves
  • Production liners
  • Wellhead and trees
  • Subsurface safety valves
• Common types of lower well completions:
  • Open hole
  • Cased and perforated
  • Open hole with liner
• Perforating options
• Considerations for lower completions at the sandface
• Special completions:
  • Horizontal wells with multistage hydraulic fracturing
  • Wells with extended reach drilling
  • Intelligent completions
  • Multiple completions

In order to successfully complete this module you will be required to:

• Go through all the lessons in the module.
• Complete the practice items.
• Complete the module quiz with a passing grade of 70%. You will have 2 chances to complete the quiz.

At the end, you will receive a Certificate of Completion. It should take you approximately 45-60 minutes to complete this module.
