Pipeline Technology-Design E-Course
This course offers a comprehensive survey of the planning, design, and construction of oil and gas pipelines. It does not require previous work experience or knowledge and can serve as an in-depth introduction for beginners or a review for those who already have experience in the field.
The course covers the following topics:
- Pipeline regulations
- Obtaining right-of-way and permits
- Pipeline hydraulics
- Analysis and control of pressure surges
- Selecting pumps and electric motors
- Design and construction of mainlines and stations
Ten (10) lessons make up the course. Each lesson consists of an interactive multimedia learning module and a quiz. To complete the course, learners must complete all the quizzes for the modules with an overall score of 70%.
Experienced learners who only wish to demonstrate their competence on the topics should set aside 5 hours to complete the quizzes. Those who wish to learn about the topics first should set aside 25 additional hours to complete the modules.
Successful completion of the course will earn each learner 3.0 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and a Completion Certificate from The University of Texas at Austin.
